About Gardenia Valencia, LCSW 60520

Hello, I have extensive years of experience working in crisis intervention with individuals of various ages and cultural backgrounds.  I have worked with people who feel like they are at the end of their rope and have lost hope.  I’ve heard repeatedly that they wish they were able to see a therapist sooner.  This inspired me to change focus from crisis intervention to psychotherapy in an effort to provide support before someone gets to a crisis state.  I help my clients learn new coping skills as well as build on the strengths they already have.  I tailor the modalities used to the unique needs of each client and work toward developing a therapeutic relationship that is safe and supportive.  Change can be difficult, but it can also be beautiful and rewarding.  I am here to help guide and support you on a journey that may be challenging at times, but well worth it.  I also provide services in Spanish and look forward to working alongside you.

“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
